Wreaths Across America Fundraiser
Our squadron can fundraise by taking orders for the WAA program. It is part of a national program, has many years of success and always includes a great program in December.
By taking an order from a friend, neighbor, relative or your own family, a person or family can dedicate a wreath to a fallen soldier or vet at the start of the winter holiday season, when we most find comfort in giving. CAP however, does not allow cadets to go door-to-door, so generally, just asking around produces a number of donations.
An order consists of one $15 check or money order for each wreath ordered. The checks go to the squadron fundraiser by Nov. 28th, and are then sent to a national team that orders the wreaths. (Make them out to WAA) The wreaths are then shiped via truck to each state on December 12th and delivered to the veteran cemetary. On that day, and simultaneously across the country, cadets, veterans, military groups, or any civic group enjoys a program dedicating and honoring, teaching and distributing. It will be held at 10am at the Utah State Veteran’s Cemetery on that Saturday. Wreaths are placed by cadets, familys, etc.
The goal is to have one wreath for every headstone!
Last year, Utah doubled the number placed on that day. Squadrons received $5 for each wreath, which was utilized for flights, supplies, or other needs determined by the squadron.
Please send any funds and the names of contributors to Public Affairs in the Squadron (I will pick them up if you call me). Be sure to put the event on your calendar, whether you donate or not. It is really a super opportunity for cadets to participate in a national event, and gain knowledge while honoring those who served.
Thanks for any support you can give. An application is available here to download for each wreath, or it is on line at Wreathsacrossamerica.org .

We cannot take orders for specific veteran headstones or people, but that can be done by accessing the Wreaths Across America website. We cannot get funding for those orders.
