Uniform of the Day: Blues

 

Item 1: (Standing Order) If you are ready for a drill test, a written test or a review board, you must log in right here PRIOR to Wednesday at 1700 hours. There will not be time to schedule these on Thursday when you arrive for the meeting.

Item 2: There will be a Military Dining In, sponsored by Weber Minuteman Squadron on Friday 23 August, at the Buca Di Beppo restaurant in Salt Lake City from 1800 to 2100 hours. Tickets are $24.00 per person, and can be obtained directly at http://eventbrite.com/event/7744188075/efblike

Uniform is formal, blues uniform for males, blues uniform or appropriate formal wear for females. If you have a set of blues, make sure you have all ribbons you are entitled to wear, and a name plate. If you have or can get an Air Force tie and or service coat, you may wear them even if you are not a squadron staff member. If you can not get a set of blues in time, then your best shirt, slacks and tie. Do not miss this if you want to attend, just because you don't have a full uniform yet. NO BDUs.

Item 3: The Rocketry FTX will be from 1900 Friday 20 Sep 13 through Sunday afternoon 22 Sep at Wendover AFB. Cost is $60.00 as of now, however they may be reduced in the near future. The cost will be announced if there is a change, but is due by 2 Sep. If you would like to earn your Rockety Badge which any cadet may wear on your blues, and the Rocketry Patch which you may wear on your BDUs, plan on attending.

Item 4: Check last weeks blog for a letter from the UTWG Disaster Relief Officer for upcoming Emergency Services training.

Item 5: Phoenix Squadron is proud to support our good friends at Weber Minuteman, as well as our Utah Wing. Do you want to see our squadron taking a more active role in activities like these? Then let us know what you would like to see us do, right here on the blog. This is your first, best chance to let your self be heard.

Item 6: Recruiting. Our attending numbers have been up and down for some time now. School will be back in session soon, and after you have had a chance to settle into your new class schedules,  be thinking about bringing one or two prospective members to our meetings. You don't have to wait for school to start though, you can bring a friend or a family member any time.
